making a User defined field on Job Material editable after the job material is pulled

Basically the title. I want to have a checkbox that is changeable after the jobMaterial has been pulled. Curious if anyone here has been able to pull that off.

We're dealing with the same limitation, and the only reliable workaround we've found is this sequence:

1. Store the current pulled quantity and sell price, then set pulledQty to 0.
2. Update whatever fields you need and save.
3. Check whether the sell price changed (this can happen for finished goods) and restore it if needed, then save again.
4. Finally, restore the original pulledQty and save.
