Covers loading IPMI kernel modules, local and remote ipmitool operations, sensor reading, power control, SOL, FreeIPMI as an alternative, and troubleshooting common issues like missing /dev/ipmi0. Tested on Rocky Linux 8.10, 9.7, and 10.1 across 3 complete provision/test/destroy cycles on Vultr infrastructure. Researched and tested each command on Rocky Linux 8,9, and 10. Troubleshooting IPMI and knowing which commands to use can be a source of difficulty from my experience and I hope the commands listed here help any sysadmins out.
