The previous approach failed because dev branch is protected and requires PRs.
Most elegant solution for syncing protected branches: - Industry standard (175k+ repos use it) - No PAT required, works with GITHUB_TOKEN - Handles branch protection automatically - Idempotent (updates existing PR) - Auto-deletes branch after merge
