[clad] Fix nullptr dereference introduced by Clad 2.4#22765

With the clad update to version 2.4 (commit 31720d2, PR root-project#22719), a nullptr dereferencing problem was introduced that blocked CMS from updating to ROOT `master`. The problem is fixed in this commit by cherry-picking clad commit f5cd601b747.
