gemini oauth in droid cli: unknown provider

Im trying to use droid cli with gemini-2.5-pro model from gemini cli oauth, and i get this error: "> hi

Error: 400 unknown provider for model gemini-2.5-pro"

Quick note that might help here from using Droid + CLIProxyAPI with Gemini:

The 400 unknown provider for model gemini-2.5-pro error usually means the Gemini OAuth flow didn’t fully finish on the CLI side, so the proxy never actually registered a Gemini provider.

When you run:

cliproxyapi --login

after the browser OAuth step, the CLI prints a list of Google Cloud projects and then asks something like:

Enter project ID [default] or ALL:

If you just close the terminal / window or don’t pick a real project (or ALL), no Gemini credential file gets written into ~/.cli-proxy-api, and later requests from Droid will hit unknown provider.

What worked for me:

1. Re‑run cliproxyapi --login.
2. When prompted, enter a specific project ID that has Gemini enabled (e.g. gen-lang-client-…) or type ALL.
3. Confirm a new Gemini auth JSON appears under ~/.cli-proxy-api/.
4. Restart the proxy (e.g. brew services restart cliproxyapi if using Homebrew).

After that, Droid stopped returning unknown provider for gemini-2.5-pro and Gemini sessions worked normally through CLIProxyAPI.
