Combine Rmarkdown website functionality and flexdashboard

From what I can tell it is not possible to render an Rmarkdown website and add as one of the pages a flexdashboard page. This would be a nice enhancement.

That's correct, there's no way to do this right now. You could certainly link to the flexdashboard page (but you'd of course lose the site navigation bar when viewing the flexdashboard). You could add a custom navbar item to the dashboard that links back to the site.

This would be fantastic. I have an rmarkdown website for my department, and if one of the pages on the navbar could be a flexdashboard, it would really help. I miss my value boxes.

@pkinif: In general: no! There is still some magic happening when rendering Rmd files into webpages. Combining different frameworks (e.g. standard webpages or blogdown, and flexdashboards) is hence not trivial.
@zfleeman: You should be able to link from a rmarkdown webpage navbar with a classical link to the (start or any other preferred) page of your flexdashboard pages. And - of course - vice versa. Both are webpages and can thus be linked with the standard rmarkdown notation for weblinks.

Not a seamless integration, but at least the page is rendered from an Rmd script, as opposed to just uploading an html file.
