How are multi-line segments passed to the set command ?

This utility works well for setting one-string keys in a yaml file, but what about setting a whole multi-line segments at a time?

Good question. I take it escape codes (e.g. "\n") don't work? Seems like there should be a way to feed input via STDIN, then one can use add whatever they want and CTRL-D to terminate the string.
