FYI policy section was introduced in #1127. If this merges we could go through all issues/PRs that got a 'policy' label update the doc. |

In 6a95227: Can you add a link to the policy doc in CONTRIBUTING.md? This will help both new users and LLMs (who I suspect are more likely to read CONTRIBUTING.md than humans are..) |
We now have a `docs` directory. Move the policy documentation out of `CONTRIBUTING.md` and into `docs/policy.md`. This has the benefit of keep the contributing doc shorter so as not to overwhelm new contributors while allowing the policy doc to evolve and grow.
