FWIW after this one I think we shoudl pause, do a release, and see if there's feedback.

Agreed. I was thinking the same. I wanted to get to 3.5 because this is the release where a lot of the dust from TLSv1.3, the new X.509 validator and opaque libcrypto structures settled.
