Crash with Axiom

Context

When trying to launch the game with any version of Axiom, the game just crashes.
I have also verified that it works with Axiom alone without Sable, so it cannot be a connector issue.

I wanted to use Axiom to build some airships using Create Aeronautics, but sadly I noticed that Sable is causing the game to crash on load.

Okay, I just tested it with Veil, and your assumption was correct. What should I do now open a bug report on the Veil repository, or just leave it and let the Sinytra team handle it? Because it seems like it's more of an issue with Veil than with Sinytra Connector

Connector has a giant warning not to report issues from mods not supporting it to the original authors. If Veil works on Fabric, this is not an error Veil can/should fix.

All you need to do to fix this is go into the sable jar file and delete the imgui references, like this

Finding jarinjar
Going into veil jar
Finding jar in jar
And deleting the imgui jars and removing them from the json in the veil jar in jar folder fixes this

This is an issue where axiom and sable use the same library mod - imgui - but sable seems to use an older version that doesn't have the support for lua axiom needs for lua script brush and similar. It seems that the sable library overrides the axiom one, causing axiom to use the older one that doesn't have lua, causing sinytra connector to fail changing it.

Long term I would suggest making it a shared library mod so that this override doesn't happen.

Thank you so much! I had just read something about ImGui on the Axiom Discord and was about to dig into the code and try to fix it myself.
But shouldn’t the proper fix be for the developers to update the library to a newer version? Or did something major change in the newer versions that prevents that?

@Kili0601 I doubt that a new version prevents Sable from using newer versions, seeing as using axiom's newer version of the library does work.

I know very little about how these mods work, but it seems like another fix could be for sable to disable these mods by itself when it detects axiom also being present?

@Joh3BL I have actually looked deeper under the hood and examined the files of Axiom and Sable's code. Sable is using the newer version of ImGui, and Axiom is on an older build. As you have stated, the problem is not due to version mismatches. The problem is that both are trying to inject ImGui into Minecraft. One initializes first, and when the other tries injecting its logic, the game crashes. The fix for this problem would be for the Axiom and Sable developers to agree on using a library mod, which, as I searched for, does not exist, or for Axiom or Sable to remove ImGui and use the other's version of it. So, there is no easy fix to this problem, sadly.
