IndexOutOfBoundsException when breaking blocks with Create tunneling contraption (NeoForge 1.21.1)

Context

I'm experiencing consistent crashes when attempting to break a large number of blocks with a tunnelling contraption made with rock cutting wheels. I am no expert, but every crash report I get includes the same line:

java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index -1 out of bounds for length 10

The crash happens shortly after the contraption starts breaking blocks, with the ammount of blocks broken varying from each attempt.
