Feature: If a tag is referenced but not present create it

Frequently I think I need to add a key date to a timeline or as I write "the guard" has become a real character. It would be nice just to be able to create it as a placeholder and continue writing.

Maybe just create an @tag: entry appended to a document "default" in the folder indicated by the reference type. These could then be manually cut and pasted into correct files, given notes and titles, etc.

You already can. If you add a reference that does not exist, it will be underlined in green (depending on colour theme). If you right-click it, you can create a placeholder note.
