Partner Wallet Policy Guide

Overview

The Supplier Wallet is a payables account system used by Step&Hop to manage financial transactions with suppliers. It serves as an accounting mechanism to track money owed to suppliers and money that suppliers owe to the platform.

Important: The Supplier Wallet is NOT a cash transaction wallet like a bank account. Suppliers cannot directly deposit or withdraw money from it. All transactions are processed through the Step&Hop platform by authorized administrators or automated systems.

What is the Supplier Wallet?

The Supplier Wallet is a digital account that tracks the financial balance between Step&Hop and each supplier. It functions as a payables ledger where:

  • Credits = Money added to the wallet (increases balance)
  • Debits = Money removed from the wallet (decreases balance)

Key Characteristics

  1. Automatic Creation: A wallet is automatically created when a supplier is approved and activated in the system
  2. Initial Balance: All wallets start with a balance of ₹0
  3. Currency: All wallets use Indian Rupees (₹) as the currency
  4. Status: Wallets can be in one of three states:
    • Active: Wallet is operational and can process transactions
    • Suspended: Wallet is temporarily disabled
    • Closed: Wallet is permanently disabled
