Frugal AI Desktop — v0.1.0-beta.1

More AI-coding work. Same plan. Less waste. Fully local.

The first public beta of Frugal — a local usage co-pilot for Claude Code. It catches repeated
context, trims wasteful sessions, and prepares lighter continuations, so you keep coding longer on
the plan you already pay for. Everything runs on your machine.

⬇ Install (Windows x64)

  1. Download Frugal-AI-Desktop-Setup.exe below.
  2. The beta isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn about an unknown publisher —
    choose More info → Run anyway if you trust the download.
  3. Open Frugal, keep using Claude Code as usual, and watch the hero screen for this week's proof.

✨ What's in this build

  • Hero home screen — "Make your Claude Code plan last longer." — with this week's
    reuse-multiplier proof and a "What Frugal did" checklist.
  • Auto Saver — background detection of heavy sessions + automatic continuation guides (out of
    Claude Code's path; never adds latency).
  • Repeated-work detection and privacy flagging (sensitive files by name only — never opened).
  • Honest proof — found / prepared / confirmed savings are counted separately; estimates
    are labeled as estimates.
  • Signed auto-updates — the app checks for newer signed builds on startup (sends app version +
    platform only; nothing else).

🧭 Honest scope

  • Windows only, Claude Code only for this beta. Cursor, Codex, Copilot, and macOS/Linux are on
    the roadmap — join the waitlist for priority access.
  • Savings are estimates from your own local usage — never a vendor invoice, never guaranteed.
  • Frugal does not bypass, extend, or increase Claude / Anthropic limits.
  • Installer is not code-signed yet (expect the SmartScreen warning).
