v4.3.0-beta.2

[IRHM]

Caution

Backup before trying (https://watcharr.app/docs/server_config/backup)!

This release contains migrations that will break your database when reverting back to the current version, so it's important to use a copy of your database for testing this release! Then swap back to your old one if you need to go back. It's best to keep the original copy available until the final release is out incase any migrations need to be changed.

See changelog (look at unreleased section).

What's Changed Since Last Beta

Added

• PORT environment variable.

Changed

• Gin: Disabled TrustedProxies feature.
• runUI: Moved the UI server to listen on a unix socket (this adds better separation since the ui server should not be accidentally accessible directly; it's only meant for internal communication).

Fixed

• runUI: Fix flow and add scanner.Err check.
• CleanupImages: Don't delete game images that are still in use (reported by @fjacques-2025).

Maintenance

• CleanupImages: Refactored function. Now uses a new helper function that gets references from sqlite schema table directly so we don't have to manually keep track of the query.
• workflow: container-release:
  • Deleted container-dev.yml, its behavior has been incorporated into container-release (instead of dev tag, we will now use beta tag because it makes more sense).
  • Improved on tag push filter to only let through valid git tags.
  • Add beta tag to beta versions.
  • Add major.minor tags to stable versions.

Docs

• server_config/environment-variables: Add PORT.
• installation/docker-compose: Added a tip pointing to supported environment variables.
