Any idea @scanny if this is still something you're looking to implement in the near future? Or is it somewhere below in the backlog?

I was recently asked for this in my md2pptx package. I dumped a slide.xml and figured out it's very complex and fiddly to implement. If it had been simple I would've prototyped it and added a sample of Python code here.
