Chart replace_data removes number comma formating

I have an existing presentation with an existing chart. The numbers are formatted so that it uses comma. The formating is lost when I use replace_data

Any idea how to fix this?

I am now doing this

new_chart_data = CategoryChartData()
new_chart_data.categories = categories
new_chart_data.add_series(series_name, series_data, number_format=self.number_format)

chart.replace_data(new_chart_data)

And I can now set the number format properly
