Canceling a command makes Plural and Translate return invalid

There's currently a bug where the Plural and Translate commands return invalid - the user is shown Not in directory - if another command has been selected before and then canceled.

Reproduce: hit Translate -> hit the escape X -> hit Plural -> type "Buch" and hit return
Expected: "Bücher" and the noun being shown as plural
Actual: "Bücher" is returned, but then the user is shown Not in directory

The bug does not occur when a command is entered while empty rather than being canceled.
