XG Mobile fan won't spin after connected to Flow x13

What's wrong?

When I connected xg mobile using ghelper, the fan won't spin and the light won't turn on, I can go to armory create to turn on the light, but I have no way to turn on the fan except to restart the computer while xg mobile is still connecting to the laptop

How to reproduce the bug?

1. Turn on laptop, I have ghelper run on startup
2. Physically connect the xg mobile to the laptop and lock it
3. Click on ghelper and click XG Mobile to connect
4. Everything works intended except that physical fan not spinning and light turn off from on
5. Restart the computer for fan to spin
6. Fan spinning after computer restarted
7. Light still off even after computer restart, had to open armory crate to turn the light on and off

You seem to be using custom fan curves (i.e. same as Manual mode in AC). How does it behave if you would use defaults? You can simply click Factory Defaults under Fans + Power to reset any customizations on top of default mode.

I tried Factory Defaults and it behave exactly the same, the fan on xg mobile won't spin and I have to restart the computer while xg mobile is still connecting onto it

@Shorino most likely it's a firmware thing with XGM itself, recently it was someone else reporting similar case that happens in both AC and G-Helper.

XGM fans (pretty much same as laptops) are controlled by firmware along default fan curves (or custom ones).

How does it behave if you do all this steps in AC ?

It was before I use ghelper and only used AC and the fan on xgmobile does spin normally, but now when I tested using AC the fan still won't spin.

I also faced issue of unable to eject xgmobile using AC which is why i prefer using ghelper. It says I can safety remove the device but xgmobile cable still on red light.

I tried to update xg mobile firmware through AC to version 91008.001.303 dated 21/6/2022 but I kept getting error "We've noticed errors during the update process. Would you kindly share the error log to help ASUS improve our services?" and "Sorry, we cannot finish the file installation. Please restart the system and retry. (Error code: 4181)". I am not sure where to obtain this error log for your reference.

@Shorino well, it looks like some hiccup with a firmware (or may be just the fan itself is malfunctioning?).

Try to do hard-reset with XGM connected but not activated and with activated as well . May be it will help.

I have tried to do a hard-reset but it is still the same, only way to let the fan spin is to restart after connected

@Shorino can you try to enable -> disable -> and enable XGM again before rebooting ? Does this make any difference ?

Cause honestly I don't know what else can I suggest here. Cause it's clearly some underlying issue with firmware (as it happens in AC / G-Helper).

Well, unfortunately I don't know what else to advice. And it doesn't seem that something can be done programmatically here, since it behaves same in AC (otherwise it will be possible to capture AC commands). Sorry
