The top popular movie right now is one that is popular in China rather than globally, the popular TV shows are filled with network television rather than prestige streaming TV. I could go on. This may be raw popularity data, but it clearly doesn't apply basic filters and bias functions that will improve the experience by miles. This is with my discover region set to my locale.
I understand this is TMDB data. Was this selected because its API is the most free and open?
I have a dynamic trending collection in Plex using Kometa's IMDB builder, which is miles better and uses the raw input from IMDB with no filters. But perhaps it gets this data in a hacky/html way to get around paid APIs, I'm not sure.
