Describe the bug

This is how GPX , NMEA configuration windows look on Lenovo T480 , HD resolution, 125% scale (Ubuntu display setting)

pygpsclient 1.6.8

• Please note that the main window behaves well regardless of scale setting, the other windows become unusable.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

1. Set scale in Ubuntu to 125%
2. start pygpsclient , open UBX/NMEA config

Desktop (please complete the following information):

• ubuntu 26.04
• Python 3.14.4

Sorry you're having difficulties. This is a actually a problem with the tkinter implementation on Ubuntu/Wayland which has surfaced and disappeared at various points in the past. AFAIK this only affects scaled Ubuntu Wayland displays - here, for example, is a scaled display on Arch Linux running Xfce/LightDM and - as you can see - the PyGPSClient dialogs render perfectly at any scale:

Unfortunately I have no control over tkinter support on Wayland but there is a simple workaround - making all the pop-up dialogs manually resizeable. This is not currently a user-configurable option, but it's easy enough to make it so. I'll put this change on the backlog for the next Release Candidate.

Here's the same screen on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS Wayland (Python 3.14.4, tkinter 8.6.17) with scaling set to 125% and the panel set to resizeable:

In the meantime, I can only suggest using the display without scaling when using PyGPSClient. Sorry for the temporary inconvenience.
