no-neck-pain.nvim centers the focused window by opening an empty window on each side of it. Your layout, splits, and plugins keep working as before.

Pages

  • Showcase: one screenshot per option, with the setup() snippet that produces it.
  • Integrations: file trees, symbol panels, debuggers, and dashboards.

The README holds installation steps, the full option list, and the commands. Inside Neovim, run :h NoNeckPain.

Updating the screenshots

Every image on this wiki comes from a vhs tape in the assets/tapes folder of the wiki repository. To render them again after a UI change:

brew install vhs
git clone git@github.com:shortcuts/no-neck-pain.nvim.wiki.git
cd no-neck-pain.nvim.wiki/assets/tapes
NNP_DIR=~/path/to/no-neck-pain.nvim ./render.sh              # every tape
NNP_DIR=~/path/to/no-neck-pain.nvim ./render.sh vsplit.tape  # one tape

NNP_DIR must point to a no-neck-pain.nvim checkout where make deps ran, because the neo-tree tape loads neo-tree from deps/. The theme is github-nvim-theme (github_dark_dimmed) with lualine and barbar, loaded from ~/.local/share/nvim/lazy. Set LAZY_DIR to use another plugin directory.
