Hi, I'm Sidharth Dasan 👋 MSc Business Analytics (Merit) · BA Economics (First Class) 📍 Reading, United Kingdom · 📧 sidharth.anila.dasan@gmail.com 🔗 LinkedIn · 🌐 Portfolio
About Me I'm a commercially minded and analytically driven graduate with an MSc in Business Analytics from the University of Kent and a First Class BA in Economics from Malabar Christian College. My expertise sits at the intersection of data analytics, commercial decision-making and operational delivery — translating complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that support real business outcomes. Beyond analytics, I bring hands-on experience in fast-paced operational environments, stakeholder communication, structured documentation and cross-functional collaboration — consistently delivering high-quality work under pressure. I am currently open to full-time opportunities in commercial management, business analytics, procurement support and public sector operations across the UK.

🔧 Predictive Modelling of Truck Air Pressure System Failure MSc Dissertation · University of Kent · 2024 End-to-end machine learning pipeline to predict failures in truck Air Pressure Systems (APS) using a real-world Scania fleet dataset of 60,000+ records across 170 features. What I did:
Conducted comprehensive data cleaning, imputation and feature selection in Python (Pandas, NumPy) — handling significant missing values across 170 variables Applied and compared three classification algorithms: Logistic Regression, Random Forest and Decision Tree Addressed severe class imbalance using resampling techniques to improve failure detection sensitivity and reduce costly false negatives Evaluated performance using accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score and confusion matrices — Random Forest delivered the strongest overall results Produced clear visualisations using Matplotlib and Seaborn to communicate findings to non-technical audiences
Key outcome: Demonstrated practical value of predictive analytics in reducing unplanned downtime and maintenance costs in safety-critical fleet environments. Python Scikit-learn Pandas NumPy Matplotlib Seaborn Random Forest Logistic Regression Decision Tree Class Imbalance
🚆 Revenue Optimisation Model — TrainEast Case Study MSc Commercial Analytics Case Study · 2023 Built a linear programming pricing model in Excel to optimise seat allocation and maximise revenue across multi-stop rail routes under capacity constraints. What I did:
Analysed 30+ route combinations within a 500-seat capacity model, balancing demand, pricing and availability trade-offs Conducted sensitivity analysis on fares and demand assumptions to evaluate revenue impact under different market scenarios Presented pricing recommendations using VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables and structured Excel modelling — translating optimisation outputs into commercial insights for stakeholders
Key outcome: Clear pricing strategy recommendations demonstrating commercial awareness and structured financial modelling capability. Advanced Excel Linear Programming Sensitivity Analysis VLOOKUP SUMIF Pivot Tables Revenue Optimisation
