Bug description

This was similarly reported in #2552 and possibly elsewhere, but I still want to raise the attention to this issue.

The app prompts me to update and do a lenghty restart nearly every day. Since I'm only an occasional user, this behavior gets in the way nearly every time I want to write a message. It is very annoying.

Steps to reproduce

1. Launch the app.
2. Once per day, the app will ask you to restart it.

Actual result:

Daily app restarts.

Expected result:

App needs restart once per month.

I totally agree with @dgossow, I just needed to restart Signal again, I did the same thing yesterday and as I have multiple machines (a laptop and a PC), I need to do this on each device separately and I don't use every device every day, so it really feels like there's an update every single day. Update notice really really annoys me a lot.

But I wouldn't say you should update less often (frequent updates are a good thing). I suggest that you consider making the update notice less distracting by just adding a dot on the top left or right corner or something like that instead of this thing sitting exactly at the position where I check most often because it contains the latest message that I receive. Even putting the same thing without changing the design at the very bottom of the chats list (as a sticky view) it wouldn't already make this less annoying. It's as interrupting as an alert that requires an interaction for me at the place where it sits now.
