The dock set to autohide stops appearing after a while

What happened?

I've set the dock to "hide if maximized" and at first it works but after a while the dock doesn't come up anymore, and the only workaround is to disable and enable the "always visible" option, and this issue happens even if I set it to the normal "autohide" mode too.

Steps to reproduce

1. Enable dock autohide.

Expected behavior

The dock keeps appearing when I move the cursor close to it.
