Philia (φιλία) is a modern mobile application designed to foster genuine human connections and combat urban loneliness, encouraging new, in-person interactions. Named after the Greek word for the love between friends and the warmth of companionship, the app facilitates spontaneous, same-day dining experiences between strangers.
Our mission is to reduce the friction of meeting new people, turning a solitary meal into an opportunity for community.
Unlike traditional social networking, Philia focuses entirely on immediate, real-world interaction rather than endless virtual messaging.
- ⏱️ High-Velocity Gatherings: Designed for "2-hour spontaneous plans," helping users quickly form small, manageable groups (2–6 people) to gather at restaurants within hours.
- 🤖 AI Coordinator (No DMs): To remove the anxiety and premature judgment of messaging strangers, users do not DM each other. An AI Chatbot acts as the middleman to confirm logistics, handle "mood checks," and provide meeting instructions.
- 🎨 Warm & Minimalist Aesthetic: Clean, "Notion-style" layouts with soft pastel color palettes, heavily rounded cards, and playful iconography to evoke comfort and speed.

- Interactive Map: The map displays custom, pill-shaped pins over local areas, showing the restaurant and how many spots are left.
- AI-Ranked List: A bottom drawer slides up displaying active plans. The AI ranks these based on food preference, budget, and vibe compatibility.
The profile page visually represents a user's identity and reputation within the community, focusing on safety and compatibility over posed aesthetics.
- Avatar & Identity: Users utilize stylized animal avatars instead of realistic photos to reduce shallow judgment. The header displays age and verification status.
- Reliability Metric: A prominent, heavily emphasized card visualizes the user's community standing with a percentage ring chart. It clearly tracks their attendance record versus "flakes" (no-shows or last-minute cancellations).
- Personality Tags: Clean, easily readable sections outline the user's Bio, Food preferences, and preferred Vibe.
Trust is directly integrated into the app's architecture and user incentives.
