Lookfar GM Assistant is a utility module for the Fabula Ultima TTRPG and uses the Project FU system in Foundry Virtual Tabletop. It is designed to help Game Masters run travel checks, handle rewards, and craft custom items more quickly during play. The intention is to provide game masters and players with tools that are fast to access and configurable. Reducing repetitive setup, speed up common GM tasks, and provide a smoother experience for both solo prep and live table use.

Navigation

Use the pages below to learn more about each part of the module:

Modules

Currently, as of version 2.0 - Lookfar includes three primary tools:

Travel Check

A travel encounter helper that rolls outcomes such as dangers, discoveries, or no incident. It supports optional keyword prompts, configurable result visibility, and custom roll table integration.

Treasure Roll

A treasure generation tool for producing loot such as currency, equipment, materials, ingredients, and other rewards. Results can be reviewed, rerolled, kept, or sent to a stash.

Item Forge

An item creation tool for building equipment, allowing you to add qualities, and use materials to support the craft. It supports multiple access modes depending on how much control the GM wants to allow players.

Quick Start

After installing and enabling the module:

  1. Open your World Settings
  2. Configure the Lookfar settings to match your table’s preferences
  3. Choose how Travel Check and Item Forge should behave, as well as enabling variant rules.
  4. Optionally assign custom roll tables for travel and treasure features
  5. Open the tools from the Project FU controls in Foundry

If you are starting fresh, the best next step is to review the Settings page in this wiki.

Localization

Lookfar is built to be data-driven and localization-friendly.

Much of the module’s content is loaded from structured data and localization files rather than being hardcoded directly into the tool logic. This makes it easier to:

  • Translate the module into other languages
  • Adjust data without rewriting core logic
  • Expand or maintain content over time

If you plan to localize or customize Lookfar, see the Localization page.

Support

If something is not behaving as expected check the Troubleshooting page first. If the issue continues, gather any relevant error messages, screenshots, or reproduction steps before opening a GitHub issue.
