Two quality-of-life improvements, both verified on hardware.

Sparklines persist across page changes. The recent-history graph used to reset to empty every time a key reappeared — switching pages, waking the machine, the app reconnecting — and rebuild from scratch. History now lives with the poller, so switching away and back keeps the graph drawn (within a ~60s grace window), and it survives a °C/°F toggle. A frozen HWiNFO no longer flattens the line; it holds its last real shape. Zero disk, negligible memory.

Redesigned status screens (Start HWiNFO, Shared Memory off, Not updating, …) — pure-black background so the key goes fully dark on an OLED panel, and two lines of soft-white text instead of three lines of hard white. Same guidance, far less glare.

Plus a skeptical multi-agent minimalism pass (~76 lines trimmed) and a new e2e assertion that the sparkline survives a page switch.

Verification: lint · typecheck · 102 unit tests · build · e2e · e2e:resilience · e2e:gadget · e2e:dead-fallback — all green. streamdeck validate clean.

@slawrensen slawrensen released this 05 Jul 17:23

Structural fix so the Deck default theme chip can never be mistaken for the preset it resolves to (dashed accent frame + link/follow badge, keeping its truthful resolved-palette face), plus three correctness fixes surfaced by a multi-agent review and verified in a live real-user sweep.

Changes

  • Theme gallery: "Deck default" chip is structurally distinct from Void (and every preset) at a glance — border/shape/badge, not typography. Still previews the resolved palette and follows the deck theme live.
  • Data source: validate HWiNFO's shared-memory "DEAD" marker at open time, so auto mode falls back to the Gadget registry after the free 12-hour limit instead of getting stuck on "Shared Memory off"; an upgrade probe no longer clobbers a working gadget provider.
  • Sensor picker: pressing Enter with no search text no longer overwrites your saved sensor.
  • Dial: "HWiNFO stalled" touchscreen text says "check Gadget" on a gadget source.

Verification: lint · typecheck · 100 unit tests · build · e2e · e2e:resilience · e2e:gadget · e2e:dead-fallback (new regression) — all green. streamdeck validate clean.

Theme gallery polish: the Deck default chip face reads 'auto' in the resolved theme's colors, so it no longer looks like a duplicate of that theme's own chip. See CHANGELOG.md.

@slawrensen slawrensen released this 05 Jul 06:27

Theme gallery layout fix: equal-width chips restored (1.1.2.0's longer Deck-default label blew its grid column wide); the resolved deck theme now shows in the help line and chip tooltip. See CHANGELOG.md.

@slawrensen slawrensen released this 05 Jul 06:18

Theme-system truthfulness: the settings panel's Deck default chip now shows the plugin's actual resolved deck theme by name and updates live; precedence help text added (per-key theme always wins); legacy-migration edge cases fixed. See CHANGELOG.md.
