Firefox unresponsive for 10 seconds after reminder dissappears

Describe the bug

When the reminder disappears, Firefox is unresponsive for another 10 seconds.

This only happens with Firefox. This only happens sometimes.

I'm not sure if it's related, but I only see the reminder on one of my two screens.

To Reproduce

This is an intermittent bug. I'll comment on this thread as I narrow down the reproduction steps.

1. Set some short reminders
2. Start browsing with Firefox
3. When the reminder appears, do nothing, until it goes away
4. Resume typing into a web page, or scrolling, or change tab

Expected behavior

As soon as the reminder disappears, Firefox is usable again.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

• OS: Ubuntu 24.04.2
• Desktop Env Gnome
• Version: 2.1.5
• 2 monitors

Did you mean, you keep working in firefox, and the reminder appears in the background (below firefox), and firefox becomes unresponsive?

Could you try the following (in the order mentioned) and let us know if any of those fix the issue?

1. Switch to the latest version

sudo add apt-repository ppa:safeeyes-team/safeeyes
sudo apt update
sudo apt install safeeyes

2. Try switching to APT firefox instead of snap firefox https://askubuntu.com/q/1399383/124466

3. Are you using X11? (What is the output of the command echo XDG_SESSION_TYPE?). If so, check if switching to Wayland helps.

4. Try our development version

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:safeeyes-team/safeeyes-daily
sudo apt update
sudo apt install safeeyes

No the reminder appears infront. (Other than my second screen, sometimes.) So I cannot use the computer when the reminder is up (i.e. the desired behavior). Then after the reminder disappears, I see Firefox again, but can't use it.

$ echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE

I've installed the latest version now. I'll wait a few days to see if the problem re-occurs.
