Release v3.72.5
Release v3.72.5.
Changelog
3.72.5 - 2026-10-24
User-facing changes
Changed
- Settings: First-run transport setup clears an old success message when a later save is rejected.
Fixed
- Settings: Settings search, filters, quota selectors, provider selectors, language and region controls, and notification webhook fields now expose accessible names and correctly linked labels. This makes the controls easier to identify with assistive technology and fixes the Discord and Slack webhook labels. The Bookshelf services shortcut now uses in-app navigation.
- Unraid: Unraid and Docker installs still pointing at the retired ghcr.io/snapetech/seerrng path now receive the latest stable image again instead of staying on an old build.
- Ci: Trusted main-branch Linux validation now routes directly to the shared private JIT runners. Public-fork jobs stay isolated, and Apple and architecture-specific release jobs keep their designated runners. Existing queued and active jobs are left untouched.
- Ios: Adding another saved server now opens the editor reliably, and editing existing server details continues to work as expected.
Security
- Dependencies: Updates body-parser, multer, undici and zod to versions that fix newly disclosed high-severity vulnerabilities in request parsing, file uploads and HTTP handling.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- (deps) Update body-parser, multer, undici and zod for HIGH advisories - (b40d462)
- (release) Trim whitespace from the legacy GHCR token - (54ff308)
- (release) Make legacy GHCR mirror login failure non-fatal - (e38c096)
- (release) Keep retired GHCR path on the latest stable image - (02505bd)
- (release) Keep retired GHCR path on the latest stable image - (72259fc)

Release v3.72.3
Release v3.72.3.
Changelog
3.72.3 - 2026-10-23
User-facing changes
Added
- Books: Search book series by name from the Search page, with separate book and audiobook results from configured servers. Library results open series requests; Chaptarr catalog results offer read-only previews using its existing provider configuration.
- Authentication: OIDC sign-in now shows provider logos and official setup guides for supported identity providers, helping administrators configure sign-in without changing access rules.
- Authentication: Operators can limit first-time OIDC account creation to exact email domains and provider groups, and explicitly map verified provider claims to SeerrNG's normal or administrator permissions.
- Books: Monitor Series can request ongoing ebook or audiobook monitoring through a compatible Chaptarr server. Chaptarr handles current and future catalog books and download timing. Requests can await approval, and managers can approve, retry or stop watches from Series Monitoring Requests. Request Selected Books remains available for individual selections.
- Action required: Upgrade Chaptarr to a version supporting series watches and configure its catalog provider and destination defaults.
- Bookshelf: Open a linked library book's series in SeerrNG and request selected verified books or missing formats through your existing book services. Series information comes from the configured server without a new metadata token. Request managers can open supported Chaptarr series pages to manage monitoring. The page shows known library members; it does not automatically request future series releases.
- Bookshelf: Request verified catalog-series books directly in SeerrNG, with normal selection, approvals and quotas. Audiobook series default to audiobook requests. Conflicting or unavailable identities remain visible for retry; no additional provider key is needed in SeerrNG.
- Action required: Upgrade Chaptarr for optional catalog edition identifiers when individual book lookup is unavailable.
- Books: Book series now appear alongside title results in the top search bar and Books keyword search. Open Search Book Series from Books to search your library and supported catalogs, with the selected book format preserved.
- Integrations: Administrators can choose the media categories each user sees, set defaults for new accounts, and let users personalize their category access. Administrators retain access to all globally enabled categories.
- Prowlarr: Administrators can assign Prowlarr indexers and search limits by category, and control indexer detail visibility globally or for individual users. Search results also have a safe handoff to Prowlarr's configured download client without exposing direct torrent or NZB links.
- Books: Book-series cards now preview up to twenty books in a cover carousel when the book server provides member metadata. Swipe, use the arrow buttons or keyboard to browse. Missing covers show a book icon; clicking a cover opens its series, and format links keep their destinations.
Changed
- Authentication: OIDC guidance now covers exact provider callbacks, account admission and linking, recovery, and troubleshooting so operators can configure sign-in safely.
- Books: Book series pages now show Books in Series from your book server before alternative catalog matches, with monitoring and book request controls above the list. The page includes known books you have not downloaded and no longer labels the series as a library subset.
- Settings: Comic metadata credential labels now link directly to the ComicVine API key page and Metron API token page.
- Ui: The default SeerrNG theme now uses neutral slate surfaces with a restrained blue accent instead of black and purple, and page titles are a solid colour instead of a gradient. Light mode keeps the same readable palette, and other themes are unchanged.
- Discovery Integrations: Trakt account linking now uses a browser authorization flow with PKCE and no client secret. New service icons also make supported media services easier to recognize.
- Action required: Set a public HTTPS Application URL and register its callback URL in your Trakt app before connecting accounts.
- Books: Books and audiobooks now share one Books entry in desktop and mobile navigation. Choose All Books, Books or Audiobooks within that section; existing audiobook links still work.
Fixed
- Settings: Sportarr connections now save successfully when no external URL is configured.
- Bookshelf: Bookshelf catalog results now match existing media by their exact service-scoped identity, even when an ISBN is unavailable. Valid ISBNs remain a fallback when that catalog identity has no match.
- Settings: Sportarr and Whisparr save failures now show safe validation details or an HTTP status, and Whisparr settings distinguish missing administrator access from server failures. Sportarr settings no longer persist Readarr-only connection fields.
- Watchlist: Local watchlist search, media type filters, and sorting now stay selected while the results update.
- Navigation: Unconfigured game discovery and patch catalogs no longer clutter navigation, while the personal games library remains available regardless of request-service configuration.
- Ui: Buttons and controls now meet the 24px minimum target size, and poster association and blocklist icons appear on hover or focus instead of covering artwork. Sportarr, Adult, Magazine and Games pages no longer overflow sideways, print text over each other, or show unreadable text.
- Notifications: Apprise notification settings now load, save, and test through the application API.
- Books: Book Series search and monitoring requests now reach the application API.
- Bookshelf: Book Series search and catalog pages now avoid client hydration errors. Query-dependent results appear after routing initializes, keeping server markup and the first browser render consistent.
- Books: Click anywhere on a book-series search card to open the series. Books and Audiobooks links still open their respective formats, and keyboard navigation highlights the card.
- Requests: When book edition options or narrator comparisons cannot be loaded, the request form now says so and offers a Retry button instead of showing nothing. You can still submit the request without choosing a version.
- Integrations: Whisparr, Navidrome, and Jellystat settings now load and save through the application API, restoring access to these integrations.
- Books: Audiobookshelf availability scans now serialize book-record writes so SQLite does not start overlapping transactions when a library contains multiple ISBN-matched audiobooks.
- Bookshelf: Series pages now read ISBNs from the book server's native edition endpoint when book details omit editions. This lets more known series members resolve to verified request identities without adding a metadata token. Editions belonging to another book and incomplete responses cannot enable requests.
- Bookshelf: Chaptarr series management links remain available when reopening a series page from cached metadata. Backend capability detection now runs before the cached catalog is used, preserving the correct provider-specific management link.
- Themes: Changing themes now updates page backgrounds, sidebars, menus, and controls together instead of leaving fixed purple backgrounds behind. Light and dark modes retain the selected palette after reloading.
- Books: Book Series searches now accept multi-word titles such as The Kingkiller Chronicle instead of failing with a query-encoding error.
- Bookshelf: Catalog series previews and requests now work when the configured book server has ID zero, including the first server added to SeerrNG.
- Deployment: The series trial deployment now builds the browser and server with matching version labels, preventing the update prompt from returning after every reload.
- Action required: Reload the browser once after the corrected deployment.
- Ui: Settings forms now keep labels and inputs aligned at tablet widths, dropdown choices keep readable foreground and background colors, and the Request Book Advanced Options control stays legible on narrow cards.
- Images: Pages no longer rate-limit their own image requests. Poster cache warming now shares one paced queue that backs off when asked, the warm limit is higher, and posters that fail briefly are retried before the placeholder is shown.
- Ui: Checkboxes are now 24px and the selection circles in action rows have a 24px hit area, so they are easier to tap and meet the WCAG 2.2 minimum target size. The drawn circles and the surrounding layout are unchanged.
- Authentication: Breaking: OIDC identities now bind to provider issuer and subject. Existing links have no issuer and remain unbound after upgrade; OIDC sign-in also requires the provider to assert
email_verified=true.- Action required: Verify provider verified-email claims, provide another sign-in method, and relink affected OIDC accounts after upgrading.
- Books: Opening a Books keyword-search link keeps its search text and results while the input initializes, including when series search reports a temporary failure.
- Search: Opening or refreshing a search-results link now retains its search text while the page loads.
- Profiles: Profile pages now wait for the selected user ID before loading that user's watchlist.
- Profiles: The profile watchlist page now waits for the account ID before loading saved items.
- Ui: Phones now show two posters per row instead of one beside a blank half-screen. Games, long list titles, and narrow settings pages no longer scroll sideways, cast and crew posters no longer overlap, and...

Release v3.71.3
Release v3.71.3.
Changelog
3.71.3 - 2026-10-20
User-facing changes
Changed
- Containers: After a stable SeerrNG release is published,
:stable,:latest,:main, and:masternow point to its verified multi-architecture image digest in GHCR and Docker Hub. The release gate checks those channel aliases and the release's moving version tags for digest drift. - Settings: Settings > Services now groups integrations by purpose, making request destinations, media libraries, reader tools, downloads, and system controls easier to scan. Compact add actions reduce empty space, and Reader Apps stay available whenever book services are enabled.
- Containers: Stable container channel tags such as
:latest,:main, and:masternow move only after the release is published and its version tags pass digest verification.
Fixed
- Display: Cross-media pages now render their intended heading sizes and colors in production builds.
Security
- Security: Local Semgrep and Trivy scans are available to maintainers, with hosted scans on main changes, pull requests, and weekly. pnpm package installs and normal Dependabot version updates now wait seven days after publication; Dependabot security updates remain immediate. The local development container now runs as the unprivileged
nodeuser.

Release v3.71.1
Release v3.71.1.
Changelog
3.71.1 - 2026-10-20
User-facing changes
Changed
- Episode Queue: Episode Queue is managed by a user manager from each user's profile. One default applies to all of that user's existing and future interactive TV requests. Only user managers see the setting; end users see how it applies when they request a TV show, with no access request or per-show controls. Automatic full-season requests keep their normal behavior.
Fixed
- Software: Requesters can remove a handed-off software request from SeerrNG without stopping the download, and Whisparr setup stays visible when saved server settings cannot be loaded.
- Settings: Whisparr setup waits for saved server settings, including retries, to finish loading before offering to add another server, while keeping setup available after a failed initial load.
- Settings: Administrators can now select and save a Sportarr quality profile when adding or editing a Sportarr connection.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- (migration) Keep Episode Queue rollback signature - (881294b)
- (requests) Simplify episode queue gates - (589642d)

Release v3.71.0
Release v3.71.0.
Changelog
3.71.0 - 2026-10-19
User-facing changes
Added
- Requests: Administrators can now disable 4K support globally in Settings → Main. Turning it off hides movie and TV 4K request, issue-reporting, and availability options, blocks new 4K requests and issue reports, and stops future scans from recording 4K separately. Existing records and Radarr/Sonarr server classifications are preserved.
- Tv Requests: Users can request approval to enable the previous-season watch requirement for their own account, then turn it on or off from their profile. User managers can approve or decline pending requests from the Users page. The global administrator setting still applies the rule to everyone.
Changed
- Books: SeerrNG now follows Bindery approval and download progress, explains pending review and service failures in request history, and withdraws requests that are still pending when canceled. Approved acquisitions continue in Bindery.
- Bookshelf: Reader Apps settings now distinguish browsing imported files from book acquisition. SeerrNG sends approved requests to the configured book service; BookOrbit's separate request queue is not part of this connection.
- Requests: Episode Queue now supports user manager approval and a saved per-user default for all current and future TV requests. Users can override the queue length per show, and profile, TV detail, request, and request management screens surface the setting and its approval status.
- Media Details: Movie and series pages keep the familiar summary and overview up front, place request and playback controls in a clear side panel on wide screens, and stack those controls above expandable details on phones.
Fixed
- Books: Bindery setup now retains the API key you type, so connection testing and saving work as expected.
- Details: Movie and TV detail actions now stay within the page at wide desktop sizes and wrap cleanly on smaller layouts.
- Settings: The Sportarr connection dialog now uses the same theme-aware form controls as the rest of the settings interface, keeping fields readable while configuring a server.
- Media Details: Movie and series detail pages now load their responsive layout styles in production, so request and playback controls stay in the side panel on wide screens and above the details on phones.
- Settings: Settings forms now use consistent, readable text sizing, and provider test actions remain clear of their selectors.
Security
- Shared Links: Shared-link matching now checks provider hostnames precisely and decodes HTML entities once, so lookalike domains and double-encoded links are not treated as trusted media providers.
🚀 Features
- (settings) Clarify global 4K control - (9a6714e)
- Add per-user Episode Queue defaults and approval - (0908b6b)
- Add global 4K setting - (ed853f8)

Release v3.68.0
Release v3.68.0.
Changelog
3.68.0 - 2026-10-19
User-facing changes
Added
- Anime: Anime pages can now point you to the manga or light novel that continues the story, show where your finished season ends when the catalog documents it, and offer the volume to request.
- Books: Book requests now compare editions and narrations side by side, with the option to keep a second performance alongside the one you have. Series pages show which narrators cover which volumes.
- Following: A new Following page and Follow buttons keep track of narrators, series translations, game expansions, artists, and patch projects, and explain why each new item appeared.
- Franchise: Anime pages link to a franchise view that groups original works, adaptations, sequels, and side stories, marks how well each link is documented, and lets administrators confirm or hide links.
- Games: PC game requests can now compare editions and expansions, show which are story content, and request only the content you select. Games whose edition contents are not listed are shown as unknown.
- Music: Album pages now compare standard, deluxe, and remaster releases using their real track lists, and say so when a detail is not documented.
- Settings: Settings now include Share and Image Recognition. Links and lists work without setup; image reading uses local text recognition or an opt-in vision provider you control, including local Ollama-style servers.
- Action required: Optional: install Tesseract for local image reading, or enable a vision provider under Settings, Services, after confirming images may be sent to it.
- Software: Browse fan translations, ROM hacks, and improvement patches, see their completeness and versions, request the exact version you want, and keep the original alongside it. Needs a ROMarrNG with the patch catalog.
- Share: Share a link, ISBN, list of titles, or a photo of a cover or recommendations to SeerrNG, check the matches, and request the ones you want. The Android app appears in the system Share menu.
- Discovery: New Game Finder saved searches, Hardcover Book Vibes you can steer, and Collector Picks from slskdN show why each result appeared and let you request it directly.
- Bookshelf: SeerrNG now has a native Bindery service for ebook, audiobook, or mixed-format requests. Bindery handles acquisition while SeerrNG tracks request status and scans imported books for availability. Requester ownership is used when the Bindery instance advertises support; otherwise the configured API key account owns the added book.
- Action required: Add Bindery from Settings > Services to send book requests and scan its imported library.
- Reader Apps: Administrators can enable Kobo delivery for a BookOrbit live shelf. SeerrNG keeps the SmartScope for browsing and maintains a matching native BookOrbit Collection for Kobo, refreshing its membership every 15 minutes by default. The sync schedule can be adjusted under Settings > Jobs. BookOrbit still needs a Kobo account paired, and the managed Collection is reserved for SeerrNG.
Changed
- Setup: SeerrNG setup now focuses service options on enabled request categories and lets the setup assistant recommend companion apps for one or more selected categories.
- Accessibility: Share, Following, and the new discovery tools now work fully by keyboard and screen reader, announce results and unread counts, label repeated buttons with the item they act on, and are linked from Discover, Books, Music, and Software pages.
- Reader Delivery: Clarified that BookOrbit SmartScopes remain dynamic and Kobo sync uses BookOrbit Collections.
Fixed
- Unraid: The Unraid Community Apps template and Compose stack now follow the latest stable release tag. Existing installs using the retired image path or
:mainmust update Repository once to receive current stable releases.- Action required: Update existing installs from the retired image path or
:maintoghcr.io/snapetech-org/seerrng:latest.
- Action required: Update existing installs from the retired image path or
- Containers: Validated stable releases now publish matching
:mainand:latestaliases to GHCR and Docker Hub. Main-branch CI publishes commit-specific images without moving either stable alias, and the Unraid Compose stack follows the stable:latesttags for companion apps.

Release v3.67.0.
Changelog
3.67.0 - 2026-10-18
User-facing changes
Added
- Age Gate: Administrators can flag accounts as restricted so Adult content and mature movies, series, and tagged titles in every category are hidden and unrequestable, with a rating ceiling and a family-sharing warning on the Adult switch.
- Action required: Flag family accounts as restricted under each user's Permissions, or set a default in Settings → Media Categories → Age Gate.
Fixed
- Docker: Administrators now see a warning in the app and a specific startup error when the data folder is not a mounted volume, when files sit at /config instead of /app/config, or when the folder is not writable by the container user.
- Action required: Map the host appdata folder to /app/config and make it writable by UID 1000 and GID 1000.
- Requests: Choosing a non-default Sonarr or Radarr instance in the request modal's advanced options now sticks instead of snapping back to the default instance.

Release v3.66.0.
Changelog
3.66.0 - 2026-10-17
User-facing changes
Added
- Swipe: Swipe now covers every enabled requestable catalog, with category-specific search, filters, request options, and private decision history. Adult picks stay outside AI ordering, and software requests include the right system or PC target.
- Settings: Administrators can save named hostnames or IP addresses under Settings → Services → System and reuse them with one click in service connection forms. Each saved entry is shared across SeerrNG and leaves the service's port and connection settings unchanged.
Changed
- Unraid: The SeerrNG Unraid template and optional Compose stack now use the validated main image channel. Companion services also follow their main release tags, so the existing Unraid definitions track validated builds without a manual tag change.
- Books: ChaptarrNG now has a clearly named entry in Services, with setup guidance that explains where its restricted API key belongs.
Fixed
- Comics: Comic discovery now refreshes its provider configuration when opened, so adding a ComicVine API key takes effect without leaving a stale missing-key message on screen.
- Settings: Search Settings keeps a matching API key control on the open settings page in place, even when the same search term also matches the Seerr API key. Searching for Prowlarr from another tab still opens the dedicated Prowlarr settings page.
- Settings: Settings Search now opens its known destination before checking similar wording on the current tab. Searching for the API key from Metadata, for example, now takes you to the General settings field instead of stopping on a matching note.
- Distribution: The Community Apps template now calls out the SeerrNG image registry move. Existing installations can keep pointing at the old image path until the Repository field is updated, so the template and Unraid guide now explain how to switch without changing the config mount.
- Action required: Update existing Unraid installs from ghcr.io/snapetech/seerrng to ghcr.io/snapetech-org/seerrng:latest while keeping the current /app/config host path.
- Discovery: Discovery pages now load catalog results when opened, including after returning from another page, instead of starting with an empty results area.
