Snyk Vuln Scanner for Eclipse

Snyk Eclipse Vuln Scanner - beta

Supported for Eclipse on MacOS and Linux

Support for Windows is still in progress.

Marketplace Installation

  • Open the marketplace in Eclipse, search for "Snyk" and install
  • Alternatively, go the marketplace website

Manual Installation

  • download snykscanner.zip
  • open eclipse
  • Go to Help -> Install new software
  • Add -> Archive -> browse to the snykscanner.zip -> Open -> Add
  • Check the Snyk Vuln Scanner and follow the rest of the steps in the wizard.
  • Eclipse might need to restart

Configuration

  • In the top menu bar click Window -> Show View -> Other
  • A Window will pop up and you choose Snyk -> Snyk View
  • In the Snyk View, open the context menu (right click) -> Preferences
  • Press the button "Authenticate" to authenticate the application with your Snyk account.
  • In path fill in the path of your package managers (e.g. Maven) if they are not installed on the default location

Usage

  • With the PLAY button in the top right of the Snyk View you can run the scan over all projects.
  • In the package explorer, right-click on the project and click Snyk test to test a specific project.
  • NOTE: this scan runs in the background and might take a while
  • NOTE: the STOP button sends a message to the background process to stop. This can also take some time before processed
  • For rescan
    • click play again to scan the whole workspace
    • right click on a specific project in the Snyk View to scan selectively

Uninstall

  • Go to About Eclipse -> Installation Details to uninstall any plugin / feature
