Map Perf Issues #25
Description
There's some performance issues when loading the map that should probably be addressed before 2021. My best guess is it's just the sheer amount of items pulled into memory and thrown onto the map but some investigation should be done. I think some of the other tasks like moving to the navigation library might help so that the maps items can be loaded once and then well be cashed.
