0.1.0
DFS v0.1.0 — first release
Private, invite-only, end-to-end encrypted file sharing for a small group. Files
are encrypted on your device and stored across your group's own machines — no
cloud, no company holding your data.
Highlights
- End-to-end encryption (AES-256-GCM, client-side) — the server only ever sees ciphertext
- Invite-only groups: roles, expiring & one-time invites, member presence, per-member storage
- Files chunked & distributed across members with configurable replication
- Gallery view, image/video/PDF/text previews + lightbox, encrypted thumbnails
- Background transfers with a progress dock; multi-select bulk zip / download / delete; rename
- Desktop app: themes, desktop notifications, auto-update
Install (Windows)
- Download DFS Setup 0.1.0.exe below.
- Run it. SmartScreen warns (unsigned) → More info → Run anyway.
Set up your group
One person hosts the coordinator on your network; everyone else installs the app
and connects to the host's address. See the
getting-started guide.
Notes
- LAN / self-hosted — all members must reach the host's coordinator.
- Unsigned installer (one-time SmartScreen warning).
- Your group key lives only on your device and is shared through invites.
