Sonic-pi 3.0.1 does not start and hangs system (Jessie with desktop)

When I start Sonic-pi, splash screen appears, and then I get an error message that server could not be started. Subsequently, the system hangs and can only be started by switching of power.
OS is up-to-date, as is Sonic-pi 3.0.1.

On OSX it is likely to be a different problem. yes, BT headset - surprisingly the old version of PI worked well.
I'm wondering is there a way to set up the output device in PI (or adjust the mixing HZ?)
update: disabling BT made it start! is there a way to change the output through the UI?

I've found a related topic here with the very same issue; #1167 and it seemed to be 'unsolvable' because it's up to supercollider.
However, with TidalCycles I was able to set the output through the console to the BT phones in SuperCollider. Is there a way to do the same in Sonic PI? To edit the configs of SC maybe?...

Thanks for those. The only thing that looks odd to me there is the pid of the Ruby process coming out as zero - I'd expect a higher number than that especially on a desktop where there are already multiple processes running. That makes me thing that the Ruby server is failing to start somehow. Are you able to try running it directly from the command line? You will need to find the path to Ruby executable contained in your Sonic Pi folder and then pass the path to sonic-pi-server.rb (I think... I'm on a phone so can't check) as the second part after the path to Ruby. Out of interest what kind of raspberry Pi are you using and is there plenty of disk space left on the device?

Well, you have to consider, I am 64 years old and not raised with computers. On my latest try I installed Raspbian directly (not Noobs) on a 8GB card the day before yesterday. Then I put it in my Rpi 2B and everything seems ok. Except for Sonic-pi.
