Defender Control v1.0.3
Fixes
- Fixed a false "operation failed" message after disabling/enabling on slow or emulated VMs (e.g. Windows on ARM running under virtualization). Defender's state can lag the operation, so verification now polls for a few seconds until the expected state is reached instead of checking once immediately.
Download
- defender-control.exe — x64 (runs natively on x64, and under emulation on Windows on ARM).
Requirements
- Windows 10 / 11, run as Administrator.

Defender Control v1.0.2
Fixes
- Localization: result messages ("disabled / enabled, restart recommended") and the System Restore point description now follow the selected UI language (简体中文 / English / 日本語 / 한국어) instead of always being Chinese.
- Layout: shortened the on-screen result messages so the English / Japanese / Korean text is no longer truncated on the status line.
- The
--watchbackground task now loads your saved language.
Download
- defender-control.exe — single portable executable (~300 KB).
Requirements
- Windows 10 / 11, run as Administrator (the app requests elevation via its manifest).

Defender Control v1.0.1
Native Win32 (Rust) tool to turn Windows Defender off and back on from a single button. Around 300 KB, no runtime dependencies, fully reversible.
Download
- defender-control.exe — single portable executable.
Requirements
- Windows 10 / 11
- Run as Administrator (the app requests elevation via its manifest).
Notes
- Disabling Defender lowers your system's security. Use it only on machines you own.
- Before disabling, the tool creates a System Restore point and exports the Defender registry; enabling restores the previous state.
- UI auto-detects 简体中文 / English / 日本語 / 한국어 and remembers your choice.
