Welcome to Pocket-Reviewes, review on the go!

First

To get going you first need to decide how to host the backend service

  1. Use the free available service at Google App Engine (GAE) TBD. Please note that this instance will only provide services as long as the cost is below the daily budget set by the authors.

  2. Deploy your own GAE instance of the ready-made backend without one single line of code. This will give you full control over who can access the service and also the budget and cost. More information can be found here TBD

  3. Integrate with an existing GAE service and enjoy the convenience of only having to manager one running instance. Knowledge of GAE and Spring is necessary. More information can be found here TBD

Second

Now that you have your backend service up and running the next step is create an app in the backoffice interface

  1. Open a web browser and enter the backoffice url to your instance of the service. The exact url depends on you hosting option select above. The backoffice url for the free service can be found here TBD

  2. You need to login using a valid Google account (do not worry, it is OAuth2 and we can not access your user details even if we wanted to).

  3. You now have a valid account and can start creating your own apps

  4. Create an app by selecting a unique domain name. By default a single user can create maximum five applications. A GAE project admin can raise this limit.

  5. The backoffice will now create the app for you and generate a unique appId and appKey that you will need when instantiating the SDK

And finally

Download one of the SDKs matching your platform. If an SDK is not available for your platforms you are free to implement the REST interface your self.

  • iOS
  • Android (coming soon)
  • Javascript (coming soon)

You will need the domain, appId and appKey generated by the backoffice when setting up the SDK or implementing the REST interface. More information can be found here TBD

Good luck!
