Open from CLI on MacOS #2229

@ebrannin-bw

Description

@ebrannin-bw

Follow-up to #555

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install via brew install sourcegit
  2. Open SourceGit
  3. In a terminal, run cd PATH/TO/GIT_REPO and then open -a SourceGit .

Expected Result

  • The given path opens in SourceGit

Observed Result

  • SourceGit gets focus
  • SourceGit becomes the active window, but only if it's in the same (multi-desktop) Space
  • The Repositories list is still empty
Image

Environment

  • MacOS 26.4
  • SourceGit 2026.06

I see there's a 2026.07, but I didn't see anything in the release notes to suggest it would help.
