Home
- Based on the ArkOS K36 Firmware with a modified Panel 8 and Panel 9 DTB file for the function button and 1512Mhz max speed.
- Download the image from the releases
- Decompress it with 7-Zip
- Optionally check the extracted image SHA 1 hash
- Recommend using Balena Etcher to flash the extracted image to an SD Card 16GB or Greater.
- If on a Panel 9 device:
- Copy the dtb file rf3536k4ka.dtb.panel9fnfix.1512MHz to the BOOT Partition,
- Delete the Panel 8 dtb file called rf3536k4ka.dtb
- Rename the Panel 9 dtb from rf3536k4ka.dtb.panel9fnfix.1512Mhz to rf3536k4ka.dtb

Install the SD-Card into the right-hand TF Slot and power on.

Installation will take around 1 to 2 minutes to set up the SD card and expand the Roms Partition

Recommend storing your ROMs on a second SD card in the left-hand SD card slot so you don't have to copy them during a firmware update. This card will be automatically recognised and mounted during firmware installation:
- Format the second card as exFAT
- Name the new SD-Card EASYROMS
- Extract the contents of EASYROMS.zip to the new card.
- If needed, force the device to use the second card from Emulationstation, Options -> Advanced -> Switch to SD2 for ROMs
- Focus on speed.
- Cleanup of unused emulators, cores, scripts, logs, etc
- Added the function button to enable emulator menu access and emulationstation brightness control.
- Wireless is restricted by the limitations of output current on the OTG port. I have tried multiple adapters, but they keep disconnecting in the dmesg outputs
- RTL8188EU drivers are included within the kernel
- Volume is low, needs to be above 50%.
- Battery charge indicators on the LED are hit and miss; the device will charge to 100% when running off the kernel
- Black Screen - Hold the power button for 10 seconds, release, then push for 2 seconds.
- I used the wrong DTB, and now my screen has fuzzy lines around the border - Power off, remove the battery, wait 10 minutes, then try with the correct DTB.
