iOS porting

Hi there, first of all I would like to thank you for this wonderful app. As I can't get an equivalent app on iOS, I was wondering if porting this app to iOS would be of interest. I could help with he development, but before forking anything I just wanted to ask for your opinion and permission. Does make sense doing it for iOS too?

This is something which I have considered before. I'd like to start by asking, have you considered https://netnewswire.com/ ? It is my impression that this is the best alternative in Apple land.

Personally, I do not think it makes sense. It would not be possible to share most of the code so it would be a completely standalone app. And in that case, what about it makes it "Feeder for iOS"?

Also I do not own the required Apple hardware to be of any help here, nor do I have any inclination to pay the yearly App Store fee (Google Play store is a one-time fee).

There is also the fact that the App Store terms of service are explicitly incompatible with the GPL license. See for example https://www.fsf.org/blogs/licensing/more-about-the-app-store-gpl-enforcement

Ah, didn't know about the GPL issue, you are right. As I am really satisfied about the android app, was thinking that iOS users would benefit from something similar and free of ads, free of charge. But as you correctly pointed out, doesn't make any sense if no part of the code can be shared, it would mean either develop it full native from scratch or migrate android to a universal framework so away from natuve. Thanks again!

It is my impression that https://netnewswire.com/ fills this niche on OS X. So unlike Android, where Feeder filled a hole, it would be "just another Feed reader" on iOS.
