No optical drive available on Windows 10

Hi guys,

thank you very much for this wonderful peace of software, and continuing it`s developement.

I got some problem with not having a possibility to choose my optical drive.
Of course the drive works normal in Windows 10 and I can burn all protected images without any problems, it just not appears in the list to choose from. I tried some previous versions, but the problem occours in all of them.

Any idea why this happens?

Unfortunately I don't know what could cause this, and I don't even have a Windows PC myself to test it. Windows support is really just "best effort" for that reason, sorry about that. I only know that it seems to work for most people.

I suppose that if you can't have access to another drive (or pc altogether) and really need dvdisaster, you might want to boot on a live Linux distro (e.g. Ubuntu from an usb stick) and use dvdisaster from there.

Hi,
I had the same problem. In my case I had the DVD drive assigned to letter B:. Changing it to E: solved the problem.
Tested on v0.79.10-pl5.

Thank you for that hint.
I added a second drive some times ago (which had letter G) and this worked.
So, thanks to your post I just changed the non-existing drive from A to K and now it shows up too.

So drive letters A, B and may be C will not work, they might be reserved from older hardware times.
