Slightly related to this PR, I have an issue on https://projects.spring.io/spring-ws/ but I don't know where to report it (JIRA doesn't feel right for this): the page tries to load mixed content from http://spring.io/project_metadata/spring-ws?callback=jQuery1101016773871155920106_1527256141271&_=1527256141272, which is blocked by Chrome, and the page is broken (the download block for Maven/Gradle is mostly empty, the block with the documentation is absent, etc.). |

The main goal of this PR is to fix the link to the reference docs in the README (it doesn't use the
htmlsingledirectory anymore).However, I noticed an inconsistent use of HTTPS in the docs, as well as mentions to the Gradle wrapper when the project actually uses Maven to build, so I also fixed those.
