Predbat Active switch deactivates after ~1 minute - GE_AC model, missing charge curve

Predbat v8.37.6 (addon v1.7.1)
Home Assistant OS 16.3
GivEnergy inverter (serial SD2204G079) with separate battery (serial DY2218G557)
GivTCP via MQTT
Solcast solar forecasting

Problem:
The switch.predbat_active toggles on successfully but deactivates itself after approximately 1 minute every time. There are no errors in the log at the moment of deactivation, it simply switches off silently after one calculation cycle.

Question:
Is there a config option to tell Predbat to accept the manually defined charge/discharge curves and stay active without requiring observed history? The battery_charge_power_curve_filter: False setting doesn't appear to prevent the deactivation. Any help appreciated!

Background errors that I have resolved:
Inverter 0 write_and_poll_value: No entity_id for reserve to write 4 — fixed by adding reserve: "number.givtcp_sd2204g079_battery_power_reserve" and set_reserve_enable: True
Inverter 0 write_and_poll_option: No entity_id for inverter_mode to write Eco — fixed by using inverter_model: 'GE_AC'

Root cause identified in logs:
When debug is enabled, the log shows:
Cannot find battery charge curve (no full rate charge curve found for battery to full)
Sensor history data lengths: soc_percent 0, charge_rate 0, battery_power 0, predbat_status 0
Predbat cannot find a full charge cycle in history to build its charge/discharge curve, so it deactivates itself as a safety measure.
What I have tried:
Added manual battery_charge_power_curve and battery_discharge_power_curve with flat 1.0 values
Added battery_charge_power_curve_filter: False
Added battery_charge_loss: 0.05 and battery_discharge_loss: 0.05
Set days_previous: 1 and days_previous_weight: 1
Battery has been charged to 100% manually previously — but Predbat wasn't running during that charge so it didn't observe it, although the Predbat service was active.

Current log output (with debug enabled, after deactivation):
2026-05-19 07:40:01: Warn: Found 2 gaps in load_today totalling 2540 minutes to fill using average data
2026-05-19 07:40:06: Info: record_status Demand
The log shows clean record_status Demand cycles with no error at the point of deactivation. The switch simply turns itself off silently after approximately 1 minute without any warning or error in the log.

I'm not sure from your description that there is actually a problem

The switch is only active when predbat is calculating. See https://springfall2008.github.io/batpred/output-data/#basic-status

Ah thank you. I hadn't even considered this. It seems an oversight on my part. My problem is though that Predbat just sits there. It never actually charges. I will have to dig deeper. Appreciate your response.

Hi , I have a similar issue;
Inverter 0 write_and_poll_value: No entity_id for reserve to write 4 — how did you add a reserve?

Should I change the figures on the above?
