you don't mention what tariff you are on if its Octopus intelligent go then predbat should work out for you if you want to program predbat to vary the charge/discharge rate then you can use the predbat manual API to do this https://springfall2008.github.io/batpred/manual-api/ but is it possible you can setup your car configuration to not use car_charging_now as that is the root cause of your issue? https://springfall2008.github.io/batpred/car-charging/#planned-car-charging |

Hello,
I have found out that Predbat assumes a cheap charging slot when car_charging_now is active (in docs), and often forces charging my house battery at the same time as the car is charging. In my case it might be so that it is only the energy going into the car battery that is cheap, not necessarily all the energy that is consumed from the grid. What is the best possible way to control the charge/discharge rate during this scenario from HA?
The battery is currently at 56% and is in eco mode for the next 2 and three quarters hours. How come it charges the house battery at given charge rate of 8kw? car_charging_now active.
BR Alexander
