Simulation failing to start on a high poly object

I'm trying to drape a cloth over a car model. I've cleaned up the model to the best of my ability (made sure there are no zero area faces or edges and no loose parts) however when I click on run the simulation seems to get stuck on the first frame and refuses to move ahead even when given an hours time.

I'm using the 1.0.9 version of the addon and the [2026-05-28-17-20] version of the solver.
