Summary of Changes

Hello @Alex-Welsh, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request streamlines the package management system by discontinuing the synchronization of Ubuntu Focal 20.04 package repositories. It involves removing the Focal-specific configurations from the active synchronization list and archiving them in a dedicated deprecated file, ensuring that only currently supported distributions are actively managed. The change also includes a minor update to a validation script to reflect these removals.

Highlights

  • Deprecation of Ubuntu Focal Repositories: The configurations for Ubuntu Focal 20.04 base repositories, security repositories, and Docker CE for Ubuntu Focal have been removed from the active package synchronization list.
  • Ubuntu Cloud Archive Update: The 'focal-updates/yoga' distribution has been removed from the Ubuntu Cloud Archive configuration, aligning with the deprecation of Focal.
  • Repository Archiving: All removed Focal-related repository definitions have been moved to ansible/inventory/group_vars/all/package-repos-deprecated for historical reference, indicating they are no longer actively synced but retained for documentation.
  • Validation Logic Adjustment: An Ansible assertion in ansible/validate-deb-repos.yml has been updated to reflect the reduced number of Docker CE repositories after the removal of the Focal entry.

Code Review

This pull request aims to stop syncing Ubuntu Focal repositories by removing their definitions from the active configuration and moving them to a deprecated file for reference. While the intent is clear, I've found two critical issues. Firstly, the variable name used in the deprecated file will cause Ansible to merge these 'removed' repositories back into the active configuration, defeating the purpose of the change. Secondly, a related test case has been updated incorrectly and will fail due to incorrect list indexing. I have provided code suggestions to resolve both of these issues.
