Welcome to the Webcontrol Wiki!

This documentation provides comprehensive information about Webcontrol, including its interface, hardware requirements, installation, and setup procedures.

Introduction
If you are reading this, you are likely interested in remotely controlling Vaillant heating systems and possess some related background knowledge.

In simplified terms, there are two primary options available:

  • Manufacturer Solution – This includes the Vaillant internet gateway (VR9XX series) and a dedicated mobile application on your phone/tablet. It is a cloud-based solution, easy to set up, and provides sufficient functionality for system management. This option requires minimal technical knowledge from the user.

  • Ebusd Integrations – such as MQTT, Home Assistant, FHEM, and Domoticz enable experienced users to manage their systems by directly reading and writing system parameters. These are not suitable for the average user, as they require in-depth knowledge of Vaillant systems, ebusd configuration, and other advanced technical skills.

Introducing Webcontrol

Webcontrol is a new, easy-to-use self-hosted standalone solution built on ebusd, designed to replace the Vaillant remote control ecosystem (including the Internet Gateway, MultiMATIC, SensoAPP, MyVaillant, etc.).

Positioned between the two options above, Webcontrol simplifies installation and setup as much as possible while delivering a comprehensive, user-friendly interface.

No prior knowledge of ebusd is required. Webcontrol features automated installation (on supported hardware), and the entire setup process is streamlined to involve only a few checkbox selections.
