I'd like to request that Standard Notes add a way to disable note revision history, either per note or account-wide. On a paid plan, remote history is retained on the server, and there's currently no way to turn it off or bulk-purge it. My concern is that, while SN is end-to-end encrypted, and I have 2FA and a very strong password, AI-powered cyber-attacks seem inevitable.
So of course, were someone to gain access to someone's SN account, they would then be able to see absolutely everything ever written in a particular note. Today the only control is Note History → "Delete this revision," entry by entry. There's no way to stop revisions being recorded, no way to bulk-clear a note's history, and (as a paid user) no visibility into or control over
server-side retention. This leaves me feeling like I'm never able to truly delete something, unless I delete the entire note, or delete each revision one at a time, which is completely infeasible.
I'm asking that SN notes please enable these features:
I think this is a commonsense feature that would align squarely with SN's privacy-first ethos. The ability to feel like deletion actually means deletion is pretty fundamental, in my opinion!
Thank you!
