Getting Started

Installing the pack

GSPack is published on CurseForge.

  1. Install the CurseForge app (or another launcher that can import CurseForge packs, such as Prism Launcher).
  2. Search for GSPack and click Install. The launcher installs Minecraft 26.1.2, NeoForge and all mods for you.
  3. Give the game enough memory. With 274 mods, set at least 8 GB of RAM in the launcher (in the CurseForge app: the Minecraft settings, under Java Settings > Allocated Memory). More helps if you use shaders.
  4. Launch. The first start takes a while.

You'll see a custom GSPack title screen (see Pack Customizations).

Want to play with friends? See Server Setup. For quick sessions without a server, the pack includes e4mc, which lets you open a singleplayer world to friends over the internet.

Your first hour

  1. Open the quest book with the button in the top-left of your inventory. Start in Welcome to GSPack, then go to Getting Started: it takes you from your first tree to the Ender Dragon and the Wither.
  2. Claim your base on the map (M) with FTB Chunks so nothing can grief it.
  3. Look up every recipe in JEI (right side of your inventory).
  4. Once you have iron and diamonds, pick a direction. The quest book suggests this route:
    1. Getting Started: iron, diamonds, the Nether
    2. Mystical Agriculture: start farming resources early
    3. Mekanism: ore processing and power
    4. Applied Energistics 2: storage
    5. The Twilight Forest and The Aether II: adventure
    6. Oritech, Allthemodium and Stellaris: the late game, all the way to the Moon

Nothing is forced. Play the chapters in any order you like. See the Chapter Guide for an overview.
