Thanks for stopping by. This is the discussion space for Danger Close, a browser-based retirement stress-test console. Whether you're using the tool, curious about the math, or have an idea, you're in the right place.

⚠️ The one hard rule: never post real financial data

This space is public. Anyone on the internet can read it, and search engines index it.

• Do not post real balances, incomes, account numbers, or your API key — not in a discussion, not in a comment, not in a screenshot.
• To ask about a specific result, use rounded or made-up numbers, or load the built-in Example Data (the "USE EXAMPLE DATA" button) and describe what you see there. Example Data is enough to reproduce and discuss almost anything.
• If you post something sensitive by accident, delete the whole post promptly and let me know — editing alone isn't always enough, since history can be retained.

Danger Close is a hobby project built by one person with no financial credentials. It renders no investment advice and recommends no securities. Every output should be checked independently before you act on it. Nothing said here changes that.

Before you post

• "Why is my success rate lower than [other calculator]?" — This is by design and fully explained in METHODOLOGY.md. The base scenario is deliberately more pessimistic than history because the tool's job is stress-testing. Try switching the scenario to HISTORICAL and see how much of the gap closes.
• Found a bug? Bugs go in Issues, not here — there's a template that walks you through it.
• Everything else — questions, methodology debates, ideas — is welcome here. Pick the category that fits best.
