On an older version? One line updates you:

npx ruvnet-brain --update

That refreshes the knowledge bundle to the latest release (2.x — 32 verified repos, 128k+ source chunks, the self-proving corpus). To also get the newest plugin features, restart Claude Code afterwards — the plugin auto-stages updates on session start.

New install? npx ruvnet-brain always delivers the latest, and now offers nightly auto-updates (default yes) so you never think about versions again.

What landed recently

• 2.0 — the brain got bigger and stopped taking its own word for anything: every store proves it embeds and reads back correctly (72/72), and releases are gated on a frozen 120-question retrieval exam that has already blocked one bad build.
• 2.1 — /brain-build (hands-off phase-gated building with a no-pass-under-95 loop — productized from a community member's field pattern), /brain-prompt (turn a rough idea into the right prompt), cost-routing receipts, and opt-in anonymous usage counters (counts only, never your queries or code).
